Men's A vs Bacchas B

Valkyrs A held their first home match in somewhat blustery conditions at the QEII. Their opponents on this occasion were Bacchas B. Bacchas seemed to have a few players missing and it wasn’t a strong Bacchas B side that arrived at QEII. Valkyrs on the other hand had three of their A teamers back with Neil, Russ and Ste and so were pretty close to full strength.

And it showed. Valkyrs scored regularly all through the first half, the first goal, a truly stunning build up and execution and was worthy of being televised. Half time 5-0 up. Second half was just a case of keeping the ruthlessness up and we did. Caldwell missed many many chances as normal and was the main reason we didn’t break into double figures, but 9-0 was still a great result and would certainly have sent a message out to the other clubs about our intentions this year. Gareth Morris was worthy of note in this one as the boy seems to have found his old sparkle again and was pretty unstoppable. Well done to everyone involved..another small step for the Peel men towards glory.  Report by Jules Colley
