Exciting start to the match with the return of Scampi after a short 3 year break and accompanied by the ever solid and elegant Julie and young Voirrey at the back, you'd have thought Quins wouldn't have a chance of getting any goals! We started off well with plenty of good passing throughout the team but unfortunately went 1-0 down in the first half. Stephen Moore swiftly corrected this with a cracking goal (we think he had just woken up) about 1 minute later. 2-1 down at half time - we were thankful for words of wisdom from the ever positive Scampi! We went out in the 2nd half energetic with everyone running their socks off. Oli Lockley was on great form and made some brilliant runs, taking on an entire defence on his own - unfortunately no goals on this occasion but great effort and near misses. Although the final score was 4-3 to Quins, it was a thoroughly enjoyable game and our forwards certainly gave the defence plenty to do! There was a clear improvement in our play in the 2nd half and Phoenix scored the remaining two goals, both from strikes on short corners - the keeper didn't have a chance, great stuff - hope he can produce plenty more of those!!! Won't name everyone but great game by all - special mention to Mikey - score would have been a few higher only for some great GK skills. Also best wishes to Fiona and Stu Gell who are awaiting the arrival of baby Gell and well done to baby for not arriving on the sideline with all mummys screams of support - no wonder we lost in the end with your enthusiasm Fiona :o)
