Mhelliah Raises A Record Amount Again
Sun 11th Nov 2007.  By Webmaster.

Oh what a night....! Once again the Mhelliah turned out to be a great evening that managed to raise a stagering £1,464 for Club funds. There was a great turn out of support from many people who managed to bring along some interesting items to auction off. Highlights of the night in no particular order were:-

    - Gareth "Arnie" Morris paying £40 to custard pie the Gunshow Miller
    - Russ Miller paying £50 to get a colleague to down some hot chilli sauce
    - Chris Caldwell paying £5 for a moot
    - Dave Hall paying £22 for the famous pair of stoats
    - Sian Murphy paying £15 for 20 loaves of bread
    - Raising over £100 to shave Mully's hair into a fetching mullet and then another £70 when Rick got in on the action and had his done too
    - Jonah paying £20 for five minutes with Sally (so lucky!)
    - Lisa and Kirsty (the jelly girls) for raising well over £100 with their "special" home made jelly

Special thanks to Mully for keeping the bids going, Helen Cowin, Jo Hull, Naomi Lewis, Ashley Hall for selling loads of envelopes and raffle tickets on the night, Mikey for collecting all the cash, the jelly girls and to all the people who put in such a great effort to get prizes to auction off. A great night was had by all at probably the best Mhelliah to date. Well done everyone!

    Dublin Tour
Tue 19th June 2007.  By Webmaster.

It would have been nice to write a glowing report on how the hockey went whilst we blessed Dublin with our unique Valkyrs presence. However, it seems that we have incurred some difficulties in memory department and no-one really seems to have a clear recollection of what actually happened!
Day one was a rest day and we started proceedings with a nice bottle of wine on the plane over to Dublin. Emma does a fantastic job demonstrating how to take one like a good 'un! Shortly after arriving, a certain Mr Hull and Mr Miller (you'll see which one shortly) claimed one of the achievements of the whole weekend. After just four hours of drinking, the charming landlady of the local bar that we rolled up to said to Hull & Miller, "The rest of your group are fine to purchase alcoholic drinks but you two can only stay if you're on soft drinks". It's quite possible that she'd seen Miller taking a mid afternoon paddle in the pond at the forecourt of a car garage, a pure act of stupidity that has to be commended!

Day two saw a whole lot more drinking plus a little bit of hockey thrown in for good measure. The opposition was Railway Union's Over 30's who took great pleasure in skinning a few drunk tourists trying to play hockey! The hosts provided us with an excellent BBQ after the game which set the team up nicely for a bit of action around Temple Bar.

Day three......hmmm unfortunately from this point onwards, the memory facility normally installed deep in the human brain began to malfunction. As a result, the rest of the weekend's activities may remain hidden deep in the annuls of history.

After strict censoring, some of the photos from the weekend can be viewed in the Gallery Page

    Awards Night
Sun 29th Apr 2007.  By Webmaster.

If you didn't make it to the Awards Night, you missed a top evening, some quality tunes from Superstar DJ "Big G" and the Miller Vanilla dance off but a full list of the Winners can be found on the Honours Page. Also, for those that couldn't make it and more for the benefit of those who can't remember if they were actually there or not, check out the Gallery Page for a selection of photos from the night.

Do As You're Told Or It'll Get Messy.......!
Sat 24th Mar 2007.  By Webmaster.

For failing to follow the simple instruction of "get to the Creek after hockey still in your kit" Dave (Dale Winton) Hall had to do a forfeit. After careful consideration, the suitable fine was to down his first pint after it had been poured through a sweaty sock and along the inside of an equally sweaty shin pad! See the Video Clip!

    Mhelliah raises record amount
Mon 13th Nov 2006.  By Webmaster.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to making the Mhelliah one of the best ever. In total, we managed to raise just over £1,300 which is a fantastic effort. Special thanks go to Lorna and Kneeno for their efforts and also to the many people who managed to get some great items to auction. Thanks also to auctioneer Mully and our very own Ali G.
